His radio shows were the first ones to be pre-recorded and all of his commercial recordings were mastered on magnetic tapes. Les Paul, a friend of Crosby and a lover of his music, was the first one to receive the Ampex 200 Model tape recorder, which inspired Paul to come out with his own line of the world s first multi-track recording.

Just like a motion picture, Bing Crosby Music was edited, rehearsed, retook and time shifted before the actual track was put on tape or even before it was released to the radio. Since such care was taken during the production of Bing Crosby Music, the quality of the recordings was overwhelming and the tracks were actually used for many broadcasts.
